Solution – Firefox cannot connect to internet

I have been using Mozilla Firefox for a while now and I really like it. But in recent times I have faced problem in connecting to internet. I am unable to connect to internet using firefox but IE, Opera and Chrome does connect. When I type URL and hit enter the URL redirects to

jar:file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/chrome/en-US.jar!/locale/browser-region/region.properties/URL

and displays a page cannot be displayed error.

Solution :

The problem is not with Firefox it is with Ask toolbar. I found this solution in a forum and want to share it with you because the number of softwares which bundle Ask toolbar are increasing day by day, implies that there is more chance of installing Ask toolbar. Many softwares such as Nero, Applian free recorder, Burnaware etc comes bundled with Ask toolbar.

So, if you install Ask toolbar then you will face this problem. The only solution to this problem is to uninstall Ask toolbar. You can install it by going to Tools>Add-ons, select Ask toolbar and click uninstall. Restart your browser. This will fix your problem.
